Maria Paviour

Making the workplace both joyful and triumphant for everyone.

Available for keynotes, conferences, workshops, and media appearances.

Maria is a compelling, thought-provoking and highly engaging speaker who brings together occupational psychology, neuroscience, workplace culture and more than 30 years of practical experience. Her talks are lively, interactive and full of humour. She has a particular gift for explaining neuroscience in a way that makes people suddenly see themselves, their colleagues and the workplace differently. Audiences frequently describe these moments as "mind-blowing." Maria speaks about serious subjects without making them heavy — and shows that healthier, more humane workplaces are also more successful ones.

An occupational psychologist, workplace transformation consultant, bestselling author and founding board member of the Policy Liaison Group on Workplace Wellbeing, she has spent more than three decades exploring a question that matters deeply to her: how can we make the workplace both joyful and triumphant for everyone?

Maria is known for seeing patterns that others miss, challenging accepted ways of thinking, and turning complex science into clear, useful approaches that improve both human experience and organisational performance. She created the world's first workplace wellbeing technology and developed NeuChem®, her neuroscience-based coaching methodology now used by organisations across the world. Her research into workplace culture spans hundreds of organisations, representing hundreds of thousands of employees.

A passionate advocate for equality, human rights and healthier workplace cultures, Maria has contributed to national discussions on workplace wellbeing and prevention — including a roundtable led by Professor Dame Carol Black exploring the conditions required to Keep Britain Working.

Her sessions are interactive, practical and genuinely enjoyable. People leave with new insights, useful tools and a stronger sense of what is possible for their organisation.

Making Work Joyful and Triumphant

What neuroscience tells us about creating workplaces where people can flourish, contribute and succeed together.

Joy, belonging and human connection are not optional extras at work — they are central to how the brain performs. With humour, stories and interactive exercises, Maria shows audiences how small changes in culture, leadership and everyday behaviour can transform the experience of work.

The Upside-Down People System

Why workplace wellbeing is still failing — and what organisations need to do differently.

Despite decades of investment in wellbeing, sickness absence and disengagement continue to rise. Maria explains why so many organisations are working back to front: waiting until people are already struggling, relying on lagging data, and expecting managers to respond without the right support. She sets out a clearer, more preventative way forward.

Your Brain at Work

How understanding neuroscience changes the way we lead, communicate and perform.

Maria makes neuroscience practical, memorable and unexpectedly fun. Audiences learn why people react as they do under pressure, what happens when the brain moves into threat mode, and how simple shifts help people think more clearly, build stronger relationships and perform at their best.
