As part of the Tri-Borough leadership programme, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea needed to build leaders' resilience and confidence to support their teams — equipping them with practical, neuroscience-based tools they could apply themselves and pass on with credibility.
NeuChem® leadership workshops covering personal resilience and the neuroscience of co-regulation and conflict management. Coaching in handling emotionally charged conversations and supporting others through high emotion. Use of the Circle of Influence and Concern technique, helping leaders clarify the value of their role. Cari® diagnostics used throughout to guide tailored interventions.
Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy in June 2017, leaders were able to draw directly on this grounding to manage their own trauma and stress while supporting teams and residents facing extreme pressure and anger. The programme was flexed in tone and depth to meet the scale of what followed, and leaders reported feeling steadier in high-emotion situations and reconnected to the purpose of public service, even amid sustained scrutiny. The experience also gave MPC additional insight that strengthened how the wider Tri-Borough programme responded to crisis.
The sessions were mind blowing, and has opened up our minds to a completely different way to achieve the objectives we have, something we were struggling with before, but it was like the door has been opened to a completely fresh and, surprisingly easy to apply, new way. It’s not only made us think more effectively but has reduced our stress levels.
